DUI in Simi Valley nets Glendale woman
A Glendale woman faces misdemeanor DUI charges following her arrest. According to the California Highway Patrol, motorists spotted the woman driving the wrong way on Erringer Road. A CHP officer later located the woman in the median on Highway 118.

According to witnesses, the driver sideswiped a semi-trailer on Highway 118 and continued to drive. Eventually, she collided with a cement divider. Police removed the driver and a passenger from the car and took them to a local hospital for evaluation. Police then took the driver to the Ventura County Jail and booked her on a misdemeanor DUI charge. Neither the passenger nor the truck driver were seriously injured as a result of the collisions.

When you face charges of a DUI in Ventura County, hire an experienced DUI lawyer like Robert Helfend. Mr. Helfend has nearly 35 years of experience in providing excellent representation to Ventura County residents. He also takes cases in jurisdictions throughout Southern California.

Statistically, most drunk driving cases are misdemeanors. Each case is different, however, and the prosecutor determines charges based on the facts of your case. Drunk driving (or impaired driving) results in two simultaneous processes. One is administrative; the DMV manages it. The other is criminal.

The DMV process starts with the immediate suspension of your driver’s license. This happens when the officer determines there is enough evidence to cite you for drunk driving. You can contest the suspension, but you must do so in person and within a specific time period of your suspension.

The criminal process also starts immediately – at the time of your arrest. Once the police arrest you, your best strategy is to hire an experienced criminal defense attorney to represent you. Refusing to submit to breath or blood tests can result in additional sanctions against you.

Do not attempt to defend yourself and don’t work with an inexperienced criminal defense attorney. Contact Robert Helfend or call toll-free at (800) 834-6434, (805) 273-5611, (310) 456-3317 or (818) 591-2809 for an immediate consultation on your Ventura County DUI fraud case.
