Police in Simi Valley arrested an Uber driver on suspicion of DUI following a crash. According to investigators, the man crashed his vehicle into a pole. He was the only occupant of the car at the time of the collision.
While at the scene, officers performed field sobriety tests on the driver. Following testing, the man had a blood-alcohol content of more than four times the legal limit. Additionally, company records show that the man dropped off his most recent passenger just 30 minutes prior to the crash. Police believe the man was driving passengers while intoxicated, but they do not have a way to verify that.
