According to police, the men – residents of Newbury Park and Ventura – purchased drugs from “Manny’s Delivery Service.” Following the purchase, they attempted to resell the drugs in Ventura County. Police arrested the would-be dealers along with five other people. The seven newly arrested people join another nine people facing related charges.
Police say that the service took orders over the phone for heroin and cocaine. The service the dispatched drivers to meet the buyers in various locations in the San Fernando Valley. The ring operators stored bulk quantities of the drugs in a stash house. They also parceled out the drugs and distributed them from a second facility in Van Nuys.
The Ventura resident faces federal charges including possession with intent to distribute nearly 1 pound of heroin. He also faces charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. The Newbury Park man faces charges of possession with intent to distribute heroin.
The case is being tried in the United States District Court in Los Angeles.
