A Camarillo man with previous convictions for sex crimes will spend nearly three years in prison for possession of child pornography. He also pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in 2016.
In June, the man pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography as a registered sex offender. He also admitted to probation violations. In May, authorities discovered a phone in the man’s possession that contained a memory card with child pornography. After, they also discovered that the man was using encryption while surfing the Internet. That was a violation of multiple conditions of his probation.
The judge terminated the man’s probation and then activated a suspended sentence from his first conviction. The man becomes eligible for parole in 2020.

Convictions for sexual offenses aren’t like other convictions. In most cases, convicted sex offenders must register with their state of residence. They must also consent to warrantless searches as well as other conditions that impinge upon their civil rights. Most often, sex offender registration is a lifetime sentence. Release conditions can include forfeiting the right to use the Internet and computers. They can also restrict your right to associate freely with others. Your release conditions may additionally require you to avoid certain individuals, housing, or types of employment.
