Ventura police arrested a man suspected of car theft after finding the car in a motel parking lot. On June 11, a Ventura resident reported a stolen vehicle. The next morning, officers spotted the stolen vehicle in a motel parking lot and waited for the suspect to return.
Shortly thereafter, the suspect left the motel and attempted to drive the car out of the lot. Police stopped the man at that time and arrested him. During the stop, police also found a 32-year-old woman with the suspect. They arrested her on five outstanding warrants for misdemeanor offenses.
Police booked the suspect into jail. He will return to court on July 11 for matters related to his case.
