A registered sex offender from Camarillo faces new sex crimes charges. According to police, the 24-year-old man began a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl. Police say the man moved the girl from a Hollywood group home to his Camarillo home. Investigators say the man also supplied her with drugs. Although this happened in 2017, officials did not learn of the relationship until March 2018.
Investigators say the man met the girl online in October 2017. She met and with the man for about two weeks in October and November 2017. That arrangement ended when police arrested the man for a probation violation of a 2016 conviction. He returned to prison in late 2017 and completed his sentence in July 2018. Ventura law enforcement re-arrested the man when he left prison in July.
The suspect is currently being held without bail in the Ventura County Jail. He faces 24 felony counts related to the case, and will return to court in late September.
