The prosecuting attorney can choose to pursue either misdemeanor or felony charges in a drunk driving case. You definitely need the assistance of an experienced attorney when you face multiple charges. Avoiding felony convictions in California is important. Defendants who have a history of felony offenses can face life in prison under California’s Three Strikes Law.
An experienced criminal defense attorney can help you navigate the complex criminal defense process. In addition, your attorney can help you through the DMV’s administrative process following your arrest for drunk driving.
People sometimes look at the cost of a drunk driving defense, and choose to represent themselves. Instead of saving themselves money, they may actually end up spending more money and facing more severe sanctions! If you’re arrested for any reason, do not attempt to defend yourself in court. High quality representation can help you retain your rights and freedoms.
