A member of the Los Angeles Rams’ practice squad faces DUI charges following a Simi Valley crash. The man struck several objects, including a street sign, mailboxes and trash cans before leaving the area.
Police responded to several calls about the disturbance, and located the car a short distance from the crash sites. They conducted a traffic stop and determined that the driver had a blood-alcohol content more than twice the legal limit. Officers arrested the driver and booked him into the East County Jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He may also face charges for hit-and-run with property damage. According to police, the driver lives in the neighborhood.
The player is new to the team’s practice squad but has played with the Rams before. He made one appearance in a regular season game for the Rams last December. Earlier this year, the team waived him to conform to the league’s roster limit. The Cleveland Browns claimed him off of waivers, but waived him again just four days later. The Rams re-signed him to their practice squad following his waiver from Cleveland. The team is aware of his arrest and does not plan additional disciplinary action.
