A soap opera actress was arrested last month on suspicion of DUI, after she drifted across the yellow line and collided head-on with a Camarillo man. The accident, which took place on SR-154 west of Live Oak, occurred at about 6:20 AM on May 18.
Jensen Buchanan, 53, of Los Angeles was driving a 2016 Mercedes S550. She collided with a 56-year old Camarillo resident who was driving a 2014 Ford CMax. Buchanan suffered minor injuries from the crash, but the driver of the other vehicle was transported to Cottage Hospital in critical condition.
After Buchanan was treated for her injuries, she was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Buchanan has worked on a number of soap operas, including One Life to Live, Another World and General Hospital. She currently appears on The Young and The Restless.
Hire a noted Camarillo DUI attorney
DUI arrests are expensive and time-consuming. When you are arrested for DUI, the law provides for a number of both immediate and long-term consequences. Some of the consequences happen outside of the courtroom, and others are the direct result of the criminal case against you. You will want the services of an experienced DUI attorney who can help you navigate the administrative and criminal processes you will go through.
Immediate consequences include actions taken by the Department of Motor Vehicles, which are separate from the criminal case against you in the courtroom. Immediate consequences include the confiscation of your driver’s license, the suspension of your driving privileges and an administrative hearing at the DMV.
If this is your first arrest, your driving privileges will be suspended for 4 months, provided that the evidence collected at the time of the arrest shows that you had a blood-alcohol level of .08% or greater. If you have had a prior drunk driving arrest, your license will be suspended for a year.
The suspension of your driving privileges is separate from a criminal case against you. The court can impose additional suspension provisions, separate from the suspension imposed by the DMV.
