A Thousand Oaks man is facing drug charges after being observed selling drugs in both Ventura County and Los Angeles County. Brandon Thaisamran, 32, was lodged in the East County Jail after the incidents.
Drug charges stem from traffic stop
Authorities observed Thaisamran in a Los Angeles County parking lot conducting what appeared to be a drug sale. They followed Thaisamran back to Ventura County and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, Thaisamran was found to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Deputies also found 46 grams of methamphetamine, several prescription medications and other evidence of drug trafficking.
If you’ve been arrested on drug charges, whether for drug possession or more serious drug trafficking charges like conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, Ventura County criminal defense attorney Robert Helfend can help. He can also provide skilled DUI defense.
The way a search and seizure is conducted is critical to the admissibility of evidence when defending against drug charges. Evidence that is inappropriately collected is inadmissible in court. Often, a prosecutor’s case depends upon evidence seized during a traffic stop. Without it, the prosecutor’s case cannot go forward, and a skilled criminal defense attorney can get drug charges against you reduced or eliminated altogether.
A criminal defense attorney that has specific experience in search and seizure in Ventura County can make a huge difference in the outcome of cases involving drug charges. Mr. Helfend has more than 30 years of aggressive criminal defense experience and takes drug possession, drug trafficking, DUI and search and seizure cases in Los Angeles County and Ventura County.
Mr. Helfend takes on each case personally, and does not refer cases to less experienced attorneys. Don’t gamble your freedom on an inexperienced attorney, or one who won’t aggressively fight the drug charges against you.
