A Riverside man was the subject of a Ventura arrest after leading police on a short, high-speed chase. A citizen reported that his truck and trailer had been stolen from a Ventura street. A patrol officer spotted the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop the driver. The driver fled from the scene at a high rate of speed.

During the chase, the driver briefly lost control of the vehicle, nearly colliding with another vehicle. The driver again lost control of the stolen truck and collided with a parked car. The driver fled on foot and was apprehended by the pursuing officer. He was treated at the Ventura County Medical Center for minor injuries related to the crash and was booked on grand theft auto charges, possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license.
