A homeless Ventura man was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Police were called to Palm and Santa Clara, in response to a report of an assault in progress. When they arrived, they found Adam Callaway, 44, of Ventura sitting on a bench. According to police, a 25-year old man saw Callaway with some of the man’s personal possessions and confronted Callaway, who drew a knife and began chasing the younger man.
